Facilities | Supported Applications

The NCAT Lab (NC 003) is open for general use during specified hours. All other spaces and times are reserved for curricular use. Please consult the guidelines for reserving NCAT spaces on the info for faculty page.

NCAT e-classroom

NCAT E-classroom

NC 108. 20 student workstations, instructor station with dual-projection system and stereo audio (total seating capacity = 30). May be reserved for individual class meetings or an entire semester.

NCAT Lab

NC 003. 19 student workstations, instructor station, and two helpdesk stations, video projector and 7.1 surround sound (total seating capacity = 26). May be reserved for individual class meetings or an entire semester. Open weekly for general use during open hours.

NCAT Video Studio

NC 003A. 1 advanced student workstation, screening area with 42″ plasma display and 5.1 surround sound (total seating capacity = 3). Reserved for use by faculty and advanced students only.

NCAT Audio Studio

NC 003B. Unavailable 2009-2010. All functions are available in NC 003A.

Supported Applications

The following applications are supported throughout the NCAT:

  • Adobe Creative Suite CS4 (Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Apple iLife ‘09 (GarageBand, iMovie, iDVD, etc.)
  • Logic Express
  • Sibelius
  • Ambient Design ArtRage

Wacom Intuos tablets and HP ScanJet scanners are available in NC 003 only.

The following additional applications are supported in limited locations and in the two project studios only (003A and B):

  • Final Cut Studio (Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, etc.)
  • Logic Studio (both stereo and 5.1 surround sound are supported)
